Hi all ^.^ Figured I might as well update this seeing as I have the time!
Does anyone use LJ anymore? I think I might have to migrate to wherever has a more active userbase with lots of disposable cash ^.^

Anywhere, here are some D.UP dresses so far! Simple designs, to judge materials for weather and wear.

Black JSK / White cotton petti /Red bib-neck JSK

The cotton petti is nice and warm for winter dress wear! Not as puffy as a tulle underskirt would be, but it's warm and soft, and still gives a nice shape under light material. Both JSK's are cotton lightweight material, and can be worn either alone or with a blouse.

I realised today, meeting some of fraye's friends, that I'm really out of touch with humanity.
And, I may have enjoyed it.

Basically, they were chatting about Waicon (I think? Something cosplay-esque) and asked me "aren't you an anime freak?" and my (very blunt) response was "sure I am, I just don't act like it".
I dunno, I guess their faces and the way they snubbed me after that made me feel guilty for expressing a legitimate point. Like, it wasn't hi who are you, how do you know fraye, it was something about cosplay... and I guess, they were trying to bring me into the conversation, but it more made me feel like, if I wasn't into it, they weren't going to bother with me. This is why I hate women. But yeah, I just feel like people these days still base themselves entirely on what they are interested in, rather than who they are? /shrug.
It's like fashion, it's just a few guidelines, it's not a religion. Or, just because you like bright colours, doesn't mean you can't have depression, stuff like that.
In better news, I finished a cpl of lolita dresses. Seeing Sweeney Todd made me wanna focus more on the victorian aspect of it, but atm I'm trying to get my sewing betterer. I can spell, I just felt like using that word. Betterer . Will look at the fashion aspect later, when I can sew a neckline straight. :D

Oh btw, Dave, I think your email is broken, I keep getting a "permanent error" that your mailbox doesn't exist ^_^ Come say hi.

Also, I need webspace and a domain name, to start with the store! Trying to get all my business forms done T_T

I think I'm really getting bored of the internet... Almost everything but Gaia and MSN have been unused for months.. Even webcomics don't have the same ability to enthrall me.
Blogging got boring first, because no-one reads it, then WoW, then everything else. These days I'm using Gaia very little, and AFKing from MSN a lot. I replaced the internet with sewing for a while, but now that I have to get off my ass and set up the overlocker my energy just went *kersplat*. Also, has anyone else been sleeping really shoddily since daylight savings kicked in? My sleep pattern has been terrible since last sunday...

P.S Apparently "shoddily" is an actual word, according to the LJ spellcheck that happens during these posts O_o

Sometimes I swear that the main reason I will never be a fashion designer is because I think most of the people interested in Lolita are idiots, and I'm slowly alienating myself from most of them.

"This may be crossing into cosplay"
NO SHIT. Hate to point this out to you, but your ENTIRE style is a -form- of cosplay. Just because you aren't dressing directly as a specific charcter, it is STILL COSTUME. /Shudder. When I was a kid I really loved Alice in Wonderland, and wanted that blue dress in the Disney version, to dress like Alice. It wasn't a fashion, but it wasn't me pretending to be her. It was just something I thought was nice and wanted to wear, and be like her.
That's like making yourself an Evangelion Plugsuit that isn't the same colour as Shinji's, then talking and acting different and saying its a fashion. You might be right, but it's still Cosplay. Look at the word carefully, and realise where you got the idea, and the fact you suddenly eat more tea cakes, and have picnics. Saying it's not, would just make you look retarded, and yet lolitas try get away with it.

/annoyed.

Meeting random lolitas at the Cannington Spotlight is fun. Mum and I were discussing petticoats and a girl randomly asks if I want to learn how to make one - My response "hell yes and I love you", so she proceeded to explain, and draw it in complete detail <3 much love! so we end up discussing Lolita and anime etc XD and now I am stalking her on LJ (I kid, I'm allowed to follow!) She also tells me more about the Gosuroli patterns, explained sizes and stuff (hopefully she didn't think I was calling her fat when I asked if she had to use LL size T_T... I swear it was just a question to western women in general.)

I also have a few meters of pattern making stuff, and some cheap cotton to mock up some stuff with. So far I'm just messing with a minihat design. Definately will need interfacing.

And my wig is coming soon! Plus hopefully mum can convince her boss to take me on as her lvl 1 gopher at work. Need to abuse the current status of the Aussie dollar (aka it being worth shitloads. Anyone ordering from overseas really should do it now!)
